Jonathan and Nicole Dower decorated their own French country kitchen. As a graduate in interior design from Rochester Institute of Technology, Nicole decorated her kitchen with her own hand-painted furniture from Nicole Antoinette's Interior Design and Furniture Painting. The builder of the Dowers' house is V-1 Custom Homes.
"We like things that look nice, but we won't sacrifice function," said Nicole.
The Dowers can work at the gas Thermador range with a disappearing vent and watch their children in the open family room ahead or sitting beside them at the breakfast bar. A hanging pot rack from Ballard Design holds a multitude of pans and utensils.
"The company has a lot of French accessories," said Nicole, whose mother is French Canadian and designed all of her window treatments, including the green floral roman shades in the kitchen.
